Windsurf ships with MCP support in Cascade, its agentic assistant. That means you can extend Cascade beyond the codebase it sees on disk: a single MCP server gives it access to PDFs, API references, and specifications that live elsewhere. 3meel is a drop-in MCP server for exactly this use case.
What the integration unlocks
- Cascade can search 3meel knowledge bases mid-task and quote the source page.
- Standards documents — PCI, SOC 2 controls, RFCs — become queryable from the editor.
- Vendor SDK manuals stop being a tab in another window.
- Memory tools keep preferences and decisions across Cascade sessions.
How it is wired
- Create a 3meel project and upload your reference PDFs.
- Generate an API key scoped to that project.
- In Windsurf, open Cascade settings and register the 3meel MCP server.
- Ask Cascade to find a passage or summarise a section; verify the citation it returns.
Operating details
Per-key rate limit is 60 requests per minute, generous for interactive editor use. Queries consume your monthly quota: 100 on Free, 3,000 on Pro ($17/mo after a 7-day trial). Documents remain encrypted at rest and are never used for model training.
Give Cascade a document brain — free plan, no card, 5 minutes to connect.
